Derbigum is a Belgian company specialised in energy-saving roofing material. It has 2 branches in Belgium and one in the United States.
RCA has been developing the internal, crisis and press communication of Derbigum since 2004. Derbipure is a new product and is the ecological alternative to bituminous roofing. It was presented at Gaasbeek natural area on 30 September 2010. Derbigum also counted on RCA for the press communication on this product launch and world first.
Apart from the annual press dossiers and newsflashes, RCA approached the journalists very proactively. We also invited several politicians at the press event for the Derbipure product launch. We also started developing the press strategy on time in order to get as many journalists to the event as possible. RCA began to follow-up the attendants by phone 2 weeks before the press event.
Thanks to constant press communication and an always up-to-date press list, RCA familiarised Derbigum among the trade as well as current affairs press (on a national and a regional level). There was always a large turnout at the organised press events. The Derbipure event was able to count on the presence of 20 journalists. A few weeks after the press conference, there were already 40 articles in print and attention was paid in both audiovisual as online media.
